The Best Restaurants in Hamburg

The StarTripper Journal presents the best places to dine in Hamburg, both International gourmet and traditional German cuisine.

Our team to Hamburg are four ladies who have tested a lot of hotels, restaurants and night-clubs world-wide.

Hamburg – Germany’s second-largest city and biggest port – is one of the coolest cities in the world. It's historic label ‘The gateway to the world’ is a bold claim, but it was true for most Germans. The city's echo of the port and history are everywhere, from the incessant cry of gulls overhead to the vibrant neighbourhoods awash with multicultural eateries, seaward-facing architecture and the gloriously seedy Reeperbahn red-light district.

The people of Hamburg really know how to live – the culinary offers are excellence and the nightlife is wonderful. They have mastered the ingredients of culinary diversity: elevate your own local specialties to the level of an obsession and then treasure them, even if the city remains open to all kind of gastronomic trends. The result is culinary excellence.

During your late night or early morning stroll back to your hotel, check that the swans still are making their way across the Inner Alster Lake, if yes – sleep well and trust that tomorrow Hamburg still will be a free and wonderful Hanseatic city.

Currency is Euro ( € ).

The StarTripper Journal Recommends these Restaurants:

Hotel picture Haerlin Restaurant at the prestigious Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is our best choice in Hamburg. Haerlin is widely recognized beyond the city as one of Germany's leading gourmet restaurants.

Head Chef Christoph Rüffers original creations of Mediterranean and Francophile cuisine are prepared exclusively with fresh market and seasonal products of the highest quality. Rüffer’s motto is "taste counts more than the optic" but this doesn't prevent him from arranging his creations with an affectionate passion for the discipline.

Book in advance for a table with the unique view over Hamburg's Inner Alster Lake, choose one of the creative menus and let the team of perfectionists spoil you.
