The Best Hotels, Restaurants and Night Clubs in Hamburg, Germany

Our team to Hamburg are four ladies who have tested a lot of hotels, restaurants and night-clubs world-wide.

Hamburg – Germany’s second-largest city and biggest port – is one of the coolest cities in the world. It's historic label ‘The gateway to the world’ is a bold claim, but it was true for most Germans. The city's echo of the port and history are everywhere, from the incessant cry of gulls overhead to the vibrant neighbourhoods awash with multicultural eateries, seaward-facing architecture and the gloriously seedy Reeperbahn red-light district.

White arcades adorn the waterfront at the Jungfernstieg promenade with an elegant, Mediterranean charm. A perfect destination for an afternoon stroll, the shopping galleries offer designer clothes, exclusive jewelry, luxury dining – and surprising Art Nouveau frescoes.

Mellin Passage, the oldest shopping arcade in Hamburg, is connecting the Alsterarkaden with the Neuer Wall shopping street. Here, you’ll find antiques, art and rare literature at Felix Jud, exclusive porcelain vases and dishware at the Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur.

The swans on Inner Alster Lake hold a special place in Hamburg’s identity – it is said that the city will be free and Hanseatic as long as there are swans living on the Alster – so the swans are protected and cared for dutifully by the city government.

The Best Night Clubs in Hamburg
Hamburg's nightlife is wonderful - Hamburg has hundreds classy cocktail bars, dance-all-night clubs and neighbourhood bars and pubs that both reflect each neighbourhood's identity and define it. So successful are they that it's almost impossible to come to Hamburg and not have a really good time.

During your late night or early morning stroll back to your hotel, check that the swans still are making their way across the Inner Alster Lake, if yes – sleep well and trust that tomorrow Hamburg will still be a free and wonderful Hanseatic city.

Our Team recomands these Night Clubs:

Grosse Freiheit 36 nightclub Grosse Freiheit 36 is situated at the far end of the reeperbahn, from the outside it looks run down. However, don't let that effect what is a great music venue, the sound quality is excellent.

The place is actually made up of three locations – the big concerts and parties take place in the main room.

Im Kaiserkeller – legendary because of the Beatles' performances in the 1960s – small bands regularly take the stage and music fans dance to rock and metal.

Galerie 36 – is where Latin and Reggae music lovers come to dance on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you're looking for an adventure, this is a place to be! A bit chaotic at night but definitely worth to visit!
